CONCORD ENTITY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM
Entity 600, more commonly known as “The Saberzoa,” are a group of benevolent jellyfish-like creatures that reside in The Blue Channel, but they can also be seen traversing various other levels of the Backrooms.

The Saberzoa reside in a currently unexplored section of the Blue Channel which has been deemed “The Quartz Quadrant.” It is currently unknown if this area is a room, sub-section, or simply one of the miscellaneous sections of The Blue Channel itself. The area resembles a vast, colorful coral reef on an ocean floor, however inside of the level’s infinite blue void rather than a body of water. Due to the delicate nature of the aquatic ecosystem and wildlife, The M.E.G. — specifically Head Field Reseaecher Eden G. — has refrained from mass exploration efforts out of respect for it. This base level information was obtained via limited usage of drone technology which recorded footage of the unique area.
Wild Saberzoa are usually friendly and will carefully and peacefully approach wanderers they encounter. If threatened, Saberzoa will sting any attackers with one of their tentacles, laced with a substance of unknown chemical composition. While Saberzoa stings are not lethal, they have proven to be extremely painful. Despite this, Saberzoa have never been seen harming other humans outside of provocation and are otherwise harmless. Due to this fact, they have received the IETS danger rating of 2, though it is still worth noting that the entities are harmless under regular circumstances.
Saberzoa are often used as messengers throughout the Backrooms in combination with their related object, Spirit Links. Saberzoa seem naturally drawn to the gems used on these objects. To deliver a message via Saberzoa, give it a letter while telling it the name of the person it is destined to. While the exact methods are unknown, Saberzoa can track the recipient and deliver the message regardless of distance. It is also unknown how Saberzoa can move through levels, but it is theorized that they move through The Blue Channel and have the ability to somehow penetrate the barriers between other levels and The Blue Channel itself — something humans have not yet figured out how to do.
Wild Saberzoa appear to function in a hierarchy similar to that of bees. Each saberzoa spends its time either searching for food, caring for the young, or serving the Broodmother. The Broodmother has a role similar to a queen bee in that the Saberzoa spend much of their time either bringing her food or tending to her offspring, which are produced asexually. She was hypothesized and later confirmed to exist after the discovery of a large cave which the Saberzoa brought food in and out of systematically, though a clear picture has never been taken of her due to both respect for wildlife and environmental dangers and rules imposed by the Head Field Researcher prohibiting ecosystem intrusion. Her name was revealed by a Saberzoa wearing a Spirit Link. It is unknown if regular Saberzoa can reproduce on their own, or if the Broodmother is the only one who can.
While the Saberzoa are most commonly seen in The Blue Channel, most prominently in The Quartz Quadrant, they have also been seen visiting various other safe levels like Level 11. Both tamed and wild Saberzoa can very commonly be seen floating through levels such as these and interacting with various other wanderers. The most common level that they can be seen on is Level 6.1, presumably due to The Blue Channel slowly seeping into 6.1, as mentioned in its article. Another proposed theory is the high population of wanderers on the sub-section.
Biology

A zoomed-in close-up of the bell of a Saberzoa.
As is obvious, Saberzoa almost identically resemble standard jellyfish from The Frontrooms. They come in all different shapes, sizes and colors, and have no consistency in any features except basic anatomy. An average Saberzoa will have a bell of around 30 centimeters (approx. 11 inches) in width, with tentacles about 60 centimeters (2 feet) in length.
The most common colors include blue, white, purple, and pink, but the diversity in color is very immense. Size can vary from roughly 20cm (approx. 7 inches) to 125cm (approx. 49 inches). It is worth noting one of its most distinguishing features: bioluminescence. This characteristic gives the Saberzoa a glowing appearance that makes them easily identifiable in both The Blue Channel and the other levels they can be found in. This also accents their colorful appearance, making them seem very vibrant and flashy.
According to a book found on Level 3, presumably written by The Lost, Saberzoa possess two types of tentacles. The first one delivers the painful stings that were mentioned earlier on this page. The second type, however, has more unconventional properties. It secretes a substance that stimulates the production of serotonin and dopamine in humans. After stinging a human with this type of tentacle, it will then proceed to feed on the aforementioned chemicals. As outlandish as this information may sound, it does come from a relatively trusted source, and therefore should not be dismissed. People who have experienced stings from the second type of tentacle have described it as a soothing, tranquil experience that can calm a person down almost instantly.
Behaviors

Saberzoa are known for their generally passive and friendly behavior. If given a Spirit Link, the Saberzoa will become a companion to the person who gifted it, displaying similar behavior to a domesticated dog. They also have displayed an extraordinary amount of intelligence compared to that of a regular jellyfish. One Saberzoa companion of an M.E.G. operative agreed to perform an IQ test in which they scored an 82. Spirit links provide the Saberzoa with telepathic abilities that include communication, meaning they are fully literate upon assuming the item. They also appear to not be limited by language barriers, as the hats give them the ability to both speak and understand any language as long as the other human understands the language themselves. A polyglot who speaks 9 languages1 was able to communicate with The Saberzoa in all 9 languages fluently and without confusion. A log has been attached below displaying an interview with a tamed Saberzoa.
LOG E600-1
Time: 14:56 LEST2
Date: November 15, 2021
Location: Level 11 at Base Beta
Interviewer: Underseer “The Effluvium”, transcribed by M.E.G. field operative Micheal Borne.
Interviewee: Tamed instance of Entity 600
Effluvium: Okay, I think we’re ready to begin. What shall I call you, Mr. Saberzoa?
Baber: Baber’s the name! I thank y’all so much for interviewing little ol’ me, I’m honored! [The Saberzoa’s hat turns pink]
Effluvium: Likewise, Mr. Baber. Tell me a little bit about yourself.
Baber: Well, I’m about 7 years old. I’ve been out of the Quartz Quadrant for about 3 months ever since Mike gave me this ol’ hat here. I live in The City with him in one of the apartments in this HUGE aquarium that’s so fun to swim in! Reminds me of home. I’m of the pink variety, and my friends used to compliment me on my swimming abilities. I could beat ANY of them in a race!
Effluvium: Impressive. So could you tell me exactly how you’re able to float in the air as you’re doing now? It’s quite fascinating.
Baber: To be honest, I really dunno. It just kinda… happens! Every time I move through the air it feels like I’m soaring through water. If I wanna go right, I just tilt my head and move my tentacles, and I’ll swim right! Watch!
[Baber begins flying over The Effluvium and Micheal in motions that mimic swimming in water. He soars above them effortlessly for about 30 seconds while laughing happily before returning to his seat.]
Effluvium: Very interesting. Did you ever leave the Quartz Quadrant before Micheal gave you a Spirit Link?
Baber: Plenty of times, sir! My friends and me would visit Ms. Eden in her apartment all the time! She’d give us tasty plants and plankton and read to us! I love her so much! We used to joke that she was our second mom since the Broodmother was always too busy taking care of the infants. I ain’t seen her in a while. I really do miss her. [Streaks of blue appear in Baber’s hat]
Effluvium: By what means did you manage to escape the Blue Channel? We have not yet figured out how to do that ourselves.
Baber: Oh, you wouldn’t believe how many people have asked me that! Seems like it’s a bit of a challenge for y’all to do. It’s weird. We just pass through it like it was any other old section of The Blue Channel. We just approach the bubble, then [Baber makes a loud whistling sound] right on through! Ya’ll can’t do that?
Effluvium: Not with out current understanding of the domain. So you’re telling me you don’t do any special tricks or anything? You just pass through like there’s nothing even there?
Baber: Correct! Sorry I can’t provide more information. As I said, it all just kinda happens! Any level from The City to Lady Blanche’s library!
Effluvium: That’s alright. On that note, though, you said that you are aware of Entity 140, er- Blanche. How did this relationship come to be?
Baber: Well it’s pretty recent, actually. The story goes that before I was born, one of the other Saberzoa who was tamed and went to live with their owner came back to visit after delivering a message. Apparently some creepy guy sent her on a quest to deliver a letter to Blanche in The Cygnus Archive. The nice lady gave her food and talked with her and everything! She came back while swimming through the blue channel to show everyone where she was. The bubble for her level was super weird, I saw it myself eventually. It was like… there was some black force field around it preventing anyone from seeing what was inside. When they passed through, there was a flash before they found themselves in the library. They were shocked when she spoke with them despite the fact that not all of them had Spirit Links. Since then, we go there all the time.
Effluvium: How did you survive looking at the beyond, then?
Baber: Y’know, she asked us about that once. Then she pulled out some book from her library and skimmed through it and went “hm!” And then she never brought it up again. I never saw anything except for the big, black bubble and the library, personally.
Effluvium: Odd. Alright. As for your tentacles there, how dangerous are they?
Baber: Well, if I wanted to I could sting someone I could do a real number on ‘em, but I’d never never never never never NEVER do that unless they were trying to hurt me, of course. Humans are too nice to sting!
Effluvium: Have you ever stung anyone, be it by accident or on purpose?
Baber: Never.
Effluvium: As for the hat on your head, what do you know about it?
Baber: For as long as I can remember, these have been a super important item to our family. I was told that these were once in abundance among our family. The hats were in the thousands and everyone had one. Then one day, the Quartz Quadrant suddenly was drained of all of its water and thrusted into The Blue Channel. [Baber’s hat develops yellow streaks] In the transition, most of the hats disappeared. We still have a good number of them hidden throughout like artifacts of sorts, but a lot of them are lost to the infinite absolute of this dimension. Mike told me he won this hat at The Terror Hotel Casino’s’s trading table, for example. Most of ‘em probably won’t ever be found if they went to places like behind the bars of The Electrical Station. It’s kinda sad, to be honest. Nobody knows where they came from or what these gem things actually are, so the fact that most of them are who knows where stinks real bad, because we can’t talk without them. If anyone knows anything, maybe Blanche does, but everyone else that I’ve known has no clue where these hats came from or how. [His hat turns blue with yellow streaks]
Effluvium: All very intriguing. Well, I think that about does it for today. Thank you once again for giving us your time, Mr. Baber.
Baber: My pleasure, sir! Have a nice day! [Baber’s hat flashes pink]
Result: Underseer Effluvium’s interview with the Saberzoa has been a great starting point for attempting to piece together the history of the entities. Further interviews are planned with other instances of Entity 600 and members of The Lost, if possible.
As previously mentioned, Saberzoa are often used as messengers throughout the Backrooms in combination with Spirit Links. Saberzoa seem naturally drawn to the gems used on these objects. Their methods of travel have proven to be incredibly quick, managing to travel to the recipient and back in a matter of mere hours at most, but most errands can take just a few minutes. This provides a significant benefit to those who are unable to use the scarce technology scattered throughout the backrooms to email other individuals. It also combats the unpredictable nature of the fluctuating Wi-Fi signal of The Backrooms. For the general populace, Saberzoa are currently the fastest form of communication between people. The Saberzoa are not known to be disloyal to their companions, excluding instances of abusive behavior, in which the Saberzoa will leave and return to their homeland of the Quartz Quadrant.
Discovery
While it is unknown exactly how long The Saberzoa have been around, it is generally presumed that The Lost were the earliest to discover these creatures. Further interviews with members of said group are planned in the hopes of learning more about the creatures.
