Level 256 is the 257th Level of the Backrooms. It takes the appearance of an abandoned technological demonstration and exhibition center.

Level 256 is entirely indoors; windows are present, but the exterior is featureless and dark. It features consistently modern interior design; neon blue lighting and artistic fixtures are common installments. All doors are locked. tried to kick one down and there was just more wall behind it. forget if I'm not supposed to do that

Various terminals are installed in the rooms of Level 256, all featuring branding of well-known game franchises. None display content consistent with their appearance. Recorded programs to date have included:

• Faint static. This is the most common display.
• A recording of the viewer, distorted in various fashions including inverted colors, infrared, and colored outlines.
• Low-definition recordings of early 3D demonstrations.
• Simple interactive games. These often imitate popular media and are banal or repetitive in nature, often with no ending jesus fuck that scared the shit out of me
• Extremely loud distorted electronic tones accompanied by a blank black screen. it's too dark. just like outside

no. no I have to stay calm. this is a safe place, I have water and food, I'm safe. there's just no one and nothing here but those fucking terminals. they turn on on their own now but I can't see anything moving. nothing moves here. nothing ever moves here but the fucking screens
