Object Class: Canuck

Special Containment Procedures

Observations of SCP-6543 are to be conducted daily within the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Any objects recovered from SCP-6543 are to be vetted and documented on a case by case basis.

No attempts are to be made in capturing SCP-6543 due to an incident on 05/01/2009.

Description

SCP-6543 is a female Northwestern Crow (Corvus brachyrhynchos caurinus) that is capable of carrying objects beyond baseline capabilities. All behaviours exhibited by SCP-6543 are in line with typical crows.

Objects carried by SCP-6543 are impervious to damage. Within 24 hours of release from SCP-6543, the aforementioned immunity dissipates. SCP-6543's flight performance is unaffected while carrying an object.

SCP-6543 was discovered on 04/01/2009 at Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, with a backpack full of twigs held by its beak. From 04/02/2009 to 05/01/2009, SCP-6543 was observed and documented stealing a variety of objects of different sizes.

04/04/2009

SCP-6543 was found with a knife held in its beak and refused to let go of it. At 23:55, the knife was disposed of in the Burrard Inlet. Multiple trees in Stanley Park were found with carvings depicting a crow escaping various traps and carrying objects around. Research is ongoing to identify the meaning of the carvings.

04/05/2009

SCP-6543 was observed lifting various personnel into the air after the latter attempted to capture it. The individuals were thrown into Burrard Inlet and recovered by nearby boaters.

In light of the incident, capture attempts were ramped up against SCP-6543 to protect the city of Vancouver.

04/07/2009

Civilian reports document a 2008 Hyundai Sonata driving at a speed of 75km/h was abruptly lifted out of traffic by SCP-6543. Minutes later, the vehicle was found at a parking lot in North Vancouver. SCP-6543 fled before the driver of the vehicle was able to catch it.

Recovered dashcam footage captured SCP-6543 landing on the vehicle and lifting it from the hood. An attempt to capture SCP-6543 via a net launcher was aborted due to this incident.

A car horn sound is heard repeatedly.

Guy

So I just finished my night shift at work today and I'm hearing some noises from the alleyway.

The footage walks towards an alleyway. A 2008 Dodge Charger slowly becomes visible.

Guy

There's a nice car over there that-

The footage approaches the car.

Guy

… Is that a crow?

Footage quickly moves to the driver's window. The crow is seen bouncing up and down as it repeatedly honks the car horn.

Guy

OY! What are you doing in there?!

The crow honks the car horn once.

Guy

It's seven in the morning god dammit! Are you trying to annoy the neighbours or what?!

The crow honks the car horn once.

Guy

Are you trying to get in trouble mate?

The crow honks the car horn twice.

Guy

Do you understand me at all?! You're honking at nothing!

The crow suddenly hops up to the steering wheel and opens its wings. The vehicle floats as the crows wings flap.

Guy

What the-

The vehicle flies away. Footage ends as the sound of police sirens are heard.

A statue replica of SCP-6543 made of various pieces of wood, rock, plants, and garbage was found in Stanley Park. The statue was moved to a site in British Columbia.

Various almond and walnut bait traps failed to capture SCP-6543 between 04/08/2009 and 04/18/2009. All traps were found with their bait stolen or tripped by a thrown rock.

04/20/2009

SCP-6543 reportedly stole a Boeing 747-400ER from Vancouver International Airport and moved it to Calgary International Airport while the aircraft was parked.

04/23/2009

SCP-6543 attempted to lift a 30 floor building from the antennas on the roof. All attempts failed to lift the building, causing SCP-6543 to be flung into the sky while lifting a snapped antenna mast.

No capture attempt was conducted due to logistical concerns regarding the feasibility of capturing SCP-6543 on the roof of a 30 floor building.

04/24/2009

A trailer home and a suburban house was successfully lifted by SCP-6543, then returned to their original location. A complex mechanism resembling a Rube Goldberg Machine failed to trap SCP-6543 with a cage.

04/25/2009

SCP-6543 attempted to lift a natural sea stack formation at Cape Scott Provincial Park near Port Hardy, BC. A fake crow prop was used to lure SCP-6543 towards a trap. However, the prop was stolen by SCP-6543 and has yet to be recovered.

Further research has found that SCP-6543 is strictly limited to lifting man-made objects and is incapable of lifting land formations such as mountains, hills, islands, cliffs, or sea stacks.

05/01/2009

SCP-6543 was spotted carrying a Space Shuttle Orbiter with its external tank and boosters attached near Kennedy Space Center in the state of Florida, United States. The Orbiter was returned to its launchpad intact.

SCP-6543 was captured shortly after with a revised trap design. SCP-6543 escaped 20 hours later from an unknown site. Personnel reported that SCP-6543 broke out on its own and left without anyone witnessing its escape. It remains unclear as to how SCP-6543 managed to escape its trap.

Following the incident, SCP-6543 has been identified as a high priority capture target. SCP-6543 was last sighted in 2010 at Stadium-Chinatown Station in Downtown Vancouver, where it rode the Expo Line to 22nd Street Station and flew off. No incidents have been reported since then, nor has SCP-6543 been found.
