Object Class: Thaumiel
Special Containment Procedures: The subject was not assigned to a foundation detention facility. Subjects are allowed to travel and carry out their activities without geographical restrictions. Foundation personnel who are aware of the subject's whereabouts are not permitted to attempt to detain or obstruct the subject's activities unless such circumstances directly endanger foundation personnel or civilians. Monitoring of subjects is conducted passively. Information regarding the subject's location, activities, and current cases can be recorded by relevant personnel and forwarded through internal communication channels. Personnel who encounter a subject at a Foundation operational site are not to make contact unless necessary. If the subject's activity is related to ongoing operations, the appropriate Site Command must be notified before any action is taken against the subject. Description: SCP-9287 is a man who goes by the name Elias Crowe. SCP-9287 works as an independent detective and is known to handle criminal cases in various jurisdictions. His activities include investigating murders, kidnappings, organized crime, and other cases deemed to be related to criminal activity. SCP-9287 typically works alone. Records of Elias Crowe can be found in a number of sources from different time periods. The similarities between these records have not been adequately explained, and it is unknown when SCP-9287 first began using this identity. SCP-9287 has a normal human appearance and exhibits no physical characteristics that consistently distinguish it from ordinary humans. SCP-9287 is known to carry a revolver during his activities. The weapon has no known anomalous characteristics and is considered personal equipment. SCP-9287's anomalous characteristics are primarily evident in the individual's ability to continue performing his activities under circumstances that would normally result in death. Observations of SCP-9287 indicate that as long as the crime continues to occur, the individual's presence and activity can be maintained. The relationship between this phenomenon and the concept of crime is unknown. SCP-9287 also demonstrates the ability to adapt its actions to the circumstances. The form and extent of this phenomenon vary from incident to incident, so the Foundation has not yet established a definitive mechanism. SCP-9287 has provided no explanation for the nature of this anomaly. When asked why it continues to work as a detective, SCP-provided the following response: > “Because there are still unsolved cases.”
