Level 211 is the 212th Level of the Backrooms. Efforts are being conducted by the M.E.G. to map out the multiple cave system patterns of the level.
Description
Level 211 is a shifting cave system on an island. Recovered logs from volunteer M.E.G. explorers reveal that the cave system has, at the moment, five passage system patterns that shift when any form of human life comes in contact with the caves.
In an effort to guide wanderers who find themselves in Level 211, explorers have etched on marks on the cave's walls.
It has been observed that the cave itself does not create new passage ways when shifting patterns. Multiple transcribed exploration audio logs recovered from M.E.G. explorers report an abundance of Almond Water within the cave system.
The level was further explored after reports of M.E.G. explorers not returning from missions.

J. Perez: It is currently… 10:48 PM on April 20, 2021! Uh, just wanted to start and keep the recorder rolling. This is Juno Perez of Team Polaris. I am… travelling around Level 211, to map out the cave systems because Team Fireflies decided that risking more volunteers isn't a good idea. Essentially, I am a sort of a last resort. [laughs]
J. Perez: I found one of the marks, its a giant X etched into the wall. No sign of life but since I just found this like… 10 meters from the entrance, this would probably be the second incomplete recorded cave system. It's very nice that at least I'm going off from some sort of map, however crude it could be.

J. Perez: Team Fireflies wanted to send someone after me if I go missing [laughs], just in case, that's what they told me. Though I don't know what would happen if two people enter the caves at the same time. The entrance collapsed when I went in… I'll report back with another update. Jason, forward these logs to Harper if they send through, just- just in case.

J. Perez: It's 12:44 A.M… At least I think it is. Light works weirdly here, phasing in and out every second. It's dizzying but I'm grateful we invested in eye protection. I also always hear water running, though I have not seen any sort of stream yet… Maybe its in another part of the system? It's consistent anyway, past explorer logs report some form of water stream, I guess its just another version of the cave system.
J. Perez: As for entities… I have not yet encountered any sign of life, it also kind of smells disgusting here… Huh, there's a lot of junk here. There's ripped apart bags and broken communicator parts, so at least there's some evidence of life. Though no sign of M.E.G. volunteers…
J. Perez: I have mapped out multiple dead ends and it seems like the cave keeps going deeper and deeper, occasionally branching off… Update will come when I see something.

J. Perez: It's 3 am… exactly, I should sleep but it is so damn noisy in this cave. Plus the smell gets worse the deeper you go. I still see nothing, no entities this smell could come from, no plants nor corpses, literally nothing.
J.Perez: I can hear the running water get louder too, the caves get more and more humid as I go. I don't have much on a update for the map, I haven't really gotten proper sleep for the past few days.
[Perez goes silent, rushing water can be heard]
J.Perez: I don't know if this is a hallucination but… Sometimes there is something off with the water rushing.
[Silence again, rushing water gets louder]
J.Perez: This cave is so damn dark, maybe my other senses are freaking out but sometimes I can hear another sound overlapping the rushing water. It's quiet enough that you can just brush it off. "Oh its just the cave", and yeah maybe that's right, when were caves ever silent?
[Silence.]
J.Perez: I remember… My mom, she used to take me to the Caverns of St. Thomas or Cueva de Santo Tomas. She told me that caves were always rife with noise because it was almost alive. Honestly, the concept of it scared me. Then going through the passages of this cave, marking routes, and exploring, I've noticed something interesting.
[Silence.]
J. Perez: I almost felt enticed to keep going. Like a pull into the depth that scared the shit out of me but also kept me awake for the past few days. "I need to map this out, I need to explore this," I was flies to honey. My mom added that the wonder of the cave is how no matter how narrow or tight that the cave tunnels were, life can crack through and pass. There was a passage that was what, a mile or so away from the first mark I passed by exploring this cave? Well it was far enough that it was dark, pitch black dark.
[Shuffling.]
J. Perez: I kept going though, because it felt like the cave walls under the palm of my hands was opening, easing through to let me pass. I was swallowed in that dark, humid, rough space… and I felt welcomed.
[Silence.]
J. Perez: I need to go to sleep.
[AUDIO LOG RECOVERED FROM PEREZ HAS BEEN TRANSCRIBED]
J. Perez: I can't sleep, or well I tried, I just keep hearing this- this constant crawling and rush of water. I really want to get out of here.
[Juno laughs]

J. Perez: I'm continuing… on…
[Loud footsteps echo.]
J. Perez: It's so damn humid… How many batteries do I have left? Its— Ah shit!
[Loud splash]
J. Perez: Christ— Fuck— I fell into… a river? It's too deep to be a- [gasp] Shit shit shit… The current is strong—
[A crack can be heard]
J. Perez: Shit-! Shit Shit Shit- [Shuffling can be heard]
[The sound of crawling echoes throughout the cave. Crinkling of paper can be heard]
J. Perez: Fucking hell! Why- Why here?! [Loud splashing can be heard]
[The crawling entity can be heard fast approaching. The sound of splashing grows frantic]
J. Perez: No- Fuck! [Tumbling can be heard followed by a loud crashing noise]
[AUDIO LOG RECOVERED FROM PEREZ HAS BEEN TRANSCRIBED]
[Splashing can be heard, then a loud thump. Heaving breaths can be heard near the device]
[DISTRESS SIGNAL HAS BEEN SENT TO BASE GAMMA. TEAM QUICK MATCH WILL BE THERE SHORTLY.]
J. Perez: There's a- [heaves loudly] There's Clumps- The cave… The cave leads here. Fucking hell- [loud coughing]
[heavy breathing slows down]
J. Perez: My flashlight broke… Great. All I know is that I'm in water. I'll try to see if I can get some light.
J. Perez: Jason, I really do hope this recording is reaching you. Or I'm cussing out all the technicians of the M.E.G. to my damn grave.
J. Perez: I don't want to get back into the water. Swimming out felt like forever, I don't know how deep this goes…
J. Perez: The maps are somehow fine. I think I'm done mapping this system pattern now huh? Good…
[Loud heaving.]
J. Perez: Alright… Let's see what survived that fall… Maps- Glasses- Ah, I can't find my tumbler… Oh! fuck yeah, the flare is fine [sighs].
[Shuffling can be heard. The sound of the flare being lit echoes throughout the cave]
J. Perez: …Ah… Aha… I'm never getting out alive.
J. Perez: 10…20… I can't count them all… There's clothes all over the water- literal piles of them- Ah- Haha- Micheal please reach me before anything happens to me.
J. Perez: There's more here in the rocky parts of the pit. Bags- Clothes- There's even weapons… All of them look spat out. This flare won't last forever. I have to find another way out.
[AUDIO LOG RECOVERED FROM PEREZ HAS BEEN TRANSCRIBED]
J. Perez: I circled the perimeter… Nothing… There's the- The lake but I'm probably going to drown trying to get in [laughs].
J. Perez: Maybe its the cave messing with me, but I can sometimes hear footsteps. God I hope its just volunteers messing with me, that would be… better… The map has been finished, I think I can just hand this over when I get out of here.
[Juno laughs.]
J.Perez: How… confident of me to say that.
J. Perez: I have to dive in don't I? Fuck no… but… I don't want to starve here to death. What do I do? I just— I just need to clear my head. They're— The M.E.G. will find me, I am going to be ok.
[Water sloshing can be heard.]
[AUDIO LOG RECOVERED FROM PEREZ HAS BEEN TRANSCRIBED]
J. Perez: I'm… I'm trying to conserve my battery… I want someone to find me please. I keep— I keep hearing those things crawling just at the mouth of this pit and I'm just begging for someone to find me.
[Footsteps echo across the cave.]
J. Perez: Is that… Wait— Oh shit—! There's a crawlspace! I think I can fit in, but where the hell will I end up if I manage to crawl my way through?
[Shuffling.]
J. Perez: Fuck it. What other option do I have? If I wait for the M.E.G. to find me I'll die here by either starving, thirst or a Clump comes after my ass. Let me just—
[Clanking can be heard. Juno huffs and kicks something.]
J. Perez: You'll be okay.
[AUDIO LOG RECOVERED FROM PEREZ HAS BEEN TRANSCRIBED]
[Heavy breathing.]
J. Perez: There's… light. Out there… So damn close but I'm so tired.
[Heavy breathing.]
J. Perez: I'm so cold… It's so damp here and I feel like I'm about to pass out.
[Loud groan.]
J. Perez: Hah… Grah… ARGH! Estoy bien— No es nada… Sorry about all that Jason, if you're still listening.
[Gentle rushing of water can be heard.]
J. Perez: Where… Where is that coming from?
[Gentle rushing of water can be heard.]
J. Perez: Ayúdame— Eli— Mama I can't see shit.
[Gentle rushing of water can be heard.]
J. Perez: Coño— ok…
[A quiet sigh can be heard.]
[THE REST OF THE AUDIO IS INCOMPREHENSIBLE DUE TO WATER DAMAGE.]
ADDENDUM-1: May 1, 2021
Juno Perez survived the exploration mission but suffered severe burns on his arms, legs and chest area. In regards to this incident, both the Compass Point and Track Mappers regiments of the M.E.G. will be discussing the status on exploration missions to Level 211.
— Captain Venessa Smith, Regiment Life Line: "Mossy Medics"
ADDENDUM-2: May 3, 2021
Future exploration expeditions into Level 211 have been suspended indefinitely due to unknown casualties and severe injuries to M.E.G. operatives. There are too many bodies to be counted, it's just not worth exploring for some promise of a resource.
